Mr Tom Wiggins

Mr Tom Wiggins completed the majority of his surgical training in London and was then selected for the prestigious Royal College of Surgeons accredited Fellowship in bariatric and benign upper gastrointestinal surgery at Musgrove Park Hospital. This enabled him to refine his skills in advanced laparoscopic surgery including complex anti-reflux procedures. Mr Wiggins has been a Consultant Upper Gastrointestinal and Bariatric Surgeon at University Hospitals Birmingham since 2020 and now acts as Clinical Lead for this department. He regularly performs and trains other surgeons in anti-reflux surgery as part of his NHS clinical practice. Mr Wiggins is active in the education of surgeons in training and is a Royal College of Surgeons Surgical Tutor. He has organised and acted as faculty for multiple training courses related to anti-reflux surgery. He also has an excellent academic record having published over 50 peer-reviewed articles and receiving a PhD from Imperial College London for his work on early diagnosis of upper gastrointestinal conditions.
