Miss Harriett Bolton

Harriett is the Lead Clinical Scientist, North at RefluxUK and has been working in the field of both upper and lower gastrointestinal physiology (GI) since 2009. She studied a BSc in Pharmacology at the University of Leeds, followed by a BSc in Gastrointestinal Clinical Physiology at DeMontfort University, Leicester, and completed her Scientific Training Programme with an MSc in Clinical Science (GI Physiology) in 2016. She is registered with the Healthcare Professions Council (HCPC) as a Clinical Scientist and The Association of Gastrointestinal Physiologists (AGIP) as an Independent Practitioner in Gastrointestinal Physiological Measurement.

 

Harriett previously worked in the NHS for many years and gained extensive experience in performing and interpreting diagnostic investigations such as High-Resolution Oesophageal Manometry, 24-hour pH-Impedance monitoring, Hydrogen Methane Breath testing (SIBO, malabsorption), High-Resolution Anorectal Manometry, Biofeedback therapy and EndoAnal ultrasound. 

 

Now working in the private sector, Harriett continues to provide high-quality, patient-centred care to support the assessment and management of patients with complex GI motility disorders. Harriett joined the RefluxUK team in November 2024 and performs both upper and lower GI physiology investigations at The Pines (Electiva) Hospital, Manchester and participates as an active member of the RefluxUK multi-disciplinary team meetings.
