Take Control of Your LPR symptoms

LPR is a form of reflux where the symptoms are usually experienced in the upper airways, such as coughing/throat clearing, hoarseness and shortness of breath.

LPR is harder to identify and treat than typical reflux, which presents as heartburn and regurgitation, so sufferers can therefore go undiagnosed for many years.

The good news is that there are effective treatment options, and we specialise in the surgical and non surgical procedures designed to do this.

The first, and most important, step in treating you is to establish that LPR really is the cause of your symptoms. We do this using a series of tests that have been developed for the purpose, including pH/impedance studies, a manometry test and breath tests.

Our team of consultants are expert in recognising and treating LPR. Whether you are still looking for a diagnosis or wanting to explore your treatment options, our experts will be able to assist.

Please contact us with any questions, or to arrange a consultation.

How Severe is Your LPR?

At RefluxUK we make use of a reflux symptom checker to assess the strength of your symptoms. It's a questionnaire that asks about your digestive and LPR symptoms to give a score for each. This score indicates the severity of your symptoms. The questionnaire is scientifically validated and is used around the world.

Use our symptom checker to measure the strength of your LPR.

A comment from our founder, Mr Nick Boyle:

“Many of the people I see in clinic have symptoms in the upper airways that have gone undiagnosed, often for a number of years. This reflects the difficulty in recognising and testing for LPR. These patients are often reaching their wits end and are desperate for answers. The tests we use enable us to determine, definitely, whether reflux is the cause of symptoms or if it is something else. In cases where we confirm reflux we are able to recommend effective treatments. Our patient stories are a perfect example of this.”
